This weekend I wanted to get 80 miles (129 km) in on the bike. The thought process behind this is to add 5 miles to the distance covered in two days every weekend until the challenge so that my legs are used to the distance, albeit in one day.

Saturday was a comfortable 12.7 miles per hour, with elevation gain of 663ft with 30.5 miles.

At this speed (Ignoring the smaller hills, that I will be more tired, wind could be different, feed stations etc.) ETA on the day – 11 hrs 48 mins 40 secs

Sunday was at a faster 14.2 miles per hour with an elevation gain of 1,053ft over 50 miles.
